About Me

Agorastidou-architects aims, in collaboration with architects, artists, engineers and other consultants, to create unique and communicative designs worldwide, approaching any case with specific sensibility and context analysis. The philosophy of the practice is to lay emphasis on the notional importance of architecture, the urban design metaphors, and the human beings interactive symbolic relation with space; to create space that, trough a synthesis of abstracted symbols, could inspire and give people the opportunity to communicate with 3 dimensions and time. Vasiliki has worked on big public projects (rehabilitation, restoration, education, hospital, library), participated at the Biennale of Young Artists (1997 Torino) and won several prizes at national architectural competitions. She worked on many private architectural projects (educational, residential, office, interior, landscape, central open spaces); participated in one national competition (first prize) and 3 international (first prize, second prize, finalist).; has been Technical consultant for the Unification of the Archeological Sites of Athens (2003). She also wrote articles and a lecture about the "urban design metaphors", and "the function of imagination and the perception of the city"; made 2 stage design works in Athens; has been deputy jury member at the international architectural competition ‘The multifunctional administrative city’ in Seoul/Daejeon (S. Korea) under the auspices of the UIA (2007)
